Thinking hats

For inquiry we used the de Bono thinking hats for reflecting on Production. We had to duplicate the hats and answer the questions in it. We had different hats for different purposes. We had to answer 3-5 questions in one hat.

Sonic Universe!

Today we read a book from a pile and answered some questions. My book was called Sonic Universe. It was a comic book and the questions were about the story. My story was about a creature called tails who went on a adventure with his friend and her boy friend. But when they get on an island they find out someone has ruled the island.

 For reading today we read a book for 15 minutes my book was called public school superhero. Then we had to answer 6 questions on thing link about the book.

Before and after

For cyber smart today we played a board game that included tasks on websites. We had to roll a computer dice and see what we would land on. This was one of the ones I landed on.

Why do people make the choice to move to different countries?

My mum came here for her job as a pastry chef.
My Dad came here because his parents died and his siblings went to live in Australia.
To have a better life.

Is this a trend in NZ society? What does the media tell us?
Immigrants keep coming to New Zealand to have a better life. Every year 60,000 come to New Zealand.

Motat recount

This recount has been edited by me alone and not checked by my teacher. I am learning to work independently.

On Tuesday all of the senior classes went to the Motat we were all excited.  We went to the Motat because we were learning about toys and we were going to make t make one. First we got into the bus with our groups and parent then when we got there we listened to a instructor who was going to tell us about the Motat. Then we went to a big igloo kind of building and had morning tea.

Our first activity was in a room where we looked at toys and tried some of them out. Then we looked at the olden day toys and compared them to the toys now. We also looked at an optical illution and it was called the Jacob's ladder. A optical illution is when you see something that is not what you think.

The next activity was exploring through the Motat. We looked at some games and a 3D printer. There was also a wall of names. Then we looked at the village and school from the olden days even some of the houses, a church, and a jail.

Then we had lunch and went to our our next activity. The activity was a machine area that made noises and used your strength. Then we went to an olden day area where there were olden day electronics and games like phones and tv’s.

Then we went on a tram around the Motat to the air planes place then the driver told us facts about him and the tram. Then we turned back and went back to the igloo.

Our final activity Was Leonardo Da Vinci. The first thing I saw was the auto hammer. The Auto hammer was a hammer that had a tuner on it and would be useful for welders. He also made a boat kind of cannon that floated on water and would spin around when the captain turned a lever as well as the cannon he made the first ever aeroplane and the catapult, snorkelling kind of thing and he was also Mona Lisa's husband and etc.

Finally home time we all got into our groups again and went back to school we all had an awesome time and thank you to the teachers and parents.

Chromebook parts

In cyber smart today we learnt the different parts of our Chromebooks and where they came from. I searched 7 different parts from the Chromebook. We used my maps.

Hacked

In cyber smart we made a scenario of what could happen online and we wrote questions about it. Then we answered them and we also  wrote what we would do. Here they are.
If this happened to me, I would tell my parents and get them to report it to Facebook. I wouldn't say anything back because I would make it worse.

Installation art

For installation Me and Max made a installation art piece of raw war. We based it on war because no one likes war and its raw. We made a hut to represent the rough nights they would have had.

  

Reading

In reading we read about a story  of a Maori school entering a comp. Then we had to answer these questions. We had to use sumo paint to draw there out fit and label it.

ABSTRACT ART

This abstract art slide show is about all the abstract pieces that we have done over the last month. We used all sorts colours and paints and it took us a long time to do the pieces. We finished our final piece and our final piece was shown at the art festival. Enjoy.

Blogging

Konichiwa everyone, today's cybersmart learning was blogging. First we found an OK blog comment and copied and pasted it on a google doc. Then we rewrote it and made it better to read. After that we screenshoted it and put it on their blog. What we learnt was that we had to make our comments good and had to add all the things like questions and making connections etc. Please comment on my work so that I can improve.

How to make a good blog comment

This is on my blog because for cyber smart we learnt about what makes a good blog comment. This is a padlet on everyone's ideas that they would use in a blog comment. I think that these Ideas are good because if we comment it will interesting and try and start a conversation. Here are some e.g Punctuation, Questions, and only your first name not your last name and so on. Never put down information that only you and your family know.

Matariki thing link

This is a Matariki thing link. First we found some facts on Matariki and put it on a document. Then we put the facts in our own words. After that we made a presentation on it and I chose the thing link. I like thing likns because you can out all your ideas in one picture.

Circuit

Yesterday all the classes did a electrical circuit. First we numbered all the parts to the circuit. Then we looked into a instruction book that showed us all of the circuit. Then we chose one of the circuit's and made it.

cyber smart

For cyber smart we have been making changes to posts to make it more interesting .First we took a screen shot of 24 hour digital foot print and wrote something. Then we put it in before and then  added more detail. Finally we put the more detail one into after.

camp

In Week 9 some students went to the Mud Run and got soaked. Some of us had a fun day but the girls didn't! .When we got there,there was a lot of people and we had to get through them and get to the start line. As soon we got to the start we waited until it was our turn and we all ran as soon as the bars went up for our turn. Huffing and puffing while running but getting wet and muddy was the worst. As soon as I saw the finish line I dived and was glad it was over and done with. Then we got changed and set off .

What sites do you go on most time on and why ?

1. I spent most of my time on typing club because it was what we had to do and it helps me type faster without looking a the keyboard.

Do you think it would be different if you did this activity on a weekend ? why ?

2. No it won't be any different if I did it on the weekend because I don't take my Chromebook home. 

Why do you think the word Google comes up so much when looking threw your history ?

3. Google comes up all the time because when you go on history you need to go on Google to get there so its the same with other websites. 

This is my 24 hour footprint the big words mean that I have been on that site the most, and the small words mean I have only been on I that site a little. First we went on a word cloud site called jasondavis.com/wordcloud. Then we went on our history and copied 24 hours ago and inserted it to our word cloud. Finally we posted it on our blog.
